Houck’s Grace and Mercy (Gracie)

 

Gracie was the second miniature horse to reside at A and B Ranch. She came to the farm Summer of 2012 and is one of our top therapy horses. She LOVES to visit people and has a unique ability to connect with everyone she meets. With her sweet and caring personality she knows just how to do her job. Whether she stands at the bedside of a hospice patient or in a room filled with children who have autism, she freely gives comfort and joy. She has participated in countless therapy visits, shows, and has had three fantastic foals.

Gracie has done therapy for:  

• Nursing Homes 
• Community Events
• Hospice
• Senior citizen housing
• Schools
• Parades
• Fairs
• Puts on Miniature Horse Fashion shows (Where we dress up the miniatures for fun!)
• Competes and interacts with people at miniature horse shows
• Gives saddle rides
• Drives (Pulls a cart)

 

  Bonnie has trained Gracie to do many tricks such as: 

  

• Two step
• Twirl
• Leg yield
• Shake hands
• Rear
• Kiss
• Dance 

 Gracie also knows how to walk beside a walker and wheelchair which allow her to better interact with the people that she visits. 

 

   

 

 Her kind eyes and compassionate personality make her an excellent therapy horse.
